 Cowboy Mouth

Companion pieces to the 2-channel video, The Island Weights, these photographs are located in each of the cardinal points and named after the respective Island Weights (being from the north, south, east, and west) from Ho-Chunk mythology. The texts etched on the photographs are taken from the homonymous poem, and title is a nod to Bob Dylan’s Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands.

These photographs were taken on an analog medium format camera and a rotary tool was used to etch and scrape text along the borders of the inkjet prints.
